Course Aims
Demonstrate their ability to interpret relevant sections of the Network Rail Rulebook GE/RT8000 series.Demonstrate their knowledge and ability to manually operate power points motors in line with relevant rules and regulations.

At the end of this course the delegates will: -• As part of a practical assessment the delegate will demonstrate their ability to apply their knowledge of the duties of a Points Operator
Pre Requisite Requirements
The following pre-requisites are required for this course:-1. Be a minimum age of 18.
2. Must hold a valid track safety sentinel card endorsed with PTS and IWA or COSS
3. Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Competence Specific Fitness Medical Requirements
4. Must have a good level of literacy to meet entry qualifications
5. Meet the requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).
PPE Requirements
This course requires the delegate to be on or near the running line, therefore, they MUST be in possession of: -• A Valid Sentinel Card
• Protective “all orange” high Visibility Clothing to BS EN 471:2003
• Safety Footwear to BS EN ISO 20345:2004
• Safety Helmet (white/blue) to BS EN 397:1995
• General Purpose Gloves to BS EN388:2121
• Safety Glasses BS. EN.166 and of Optical Class 1 with Impact Resistance F
